Understanding when you can enroll is important.
Medicare enrollment is available based on your age, employment status, and life circumstances. If you’re turning 65, your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) spans seven months around your birthday. There are also yearly opportunities like the Annual Election Period (AEP) and Open Enrollment Period (OEP), as well as Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) if your situation changes — such as moving or losing other coverage.
-
Enrollment periods can vary — our licensed advisors can help you understand what applies to your situation.
Learn what types of Medicare coverage are available.
Medicare Part A, B, C, D and Medigap serves a purpose and may offer extras like dental, vision, or gym benefits. Knowing how they work together helps you choose the right coverage.
-
Parts A and B make up Original Medicare (hospital and medical)
-
Part C combines medical, hospital, and often drug coverage
-
Part D adds prescription drug coverage through private plans
-
Medigap helps pay costs not covered by Original Medicare
Medicare coverage isn’t the same for everyone.
When evaluating your options, consider more than just premiums. Look at total costs (like deductibles and copays), included benefits, provider access, drug coverage, and whether you need travel or out-of-state protection. CMS star ratings can also help assess plan quality. Licensed advisors can help you review available options and understand how they may apply to your needs.
